About SteadyState
SteadyState exists because life admin gets hardest exactly when you have the least capacity for it. Divorce, child arrangements, court hearings — nobody plans for them, and when they arrive you are expected to make good decisions, keep clear records and stay organised while your world is upside down.
The guides on this site are written from lived experience of separation, child arrangements and the family court process in England — translated into plain English, without the jargon and without the fear-mongering. They are the articles we wished existed at the start of the process.
Alongside the guides, we build spreadsheet templates that handle the organisational heavy lifting — custody calendars, documentation logs, expense trackers — each one tested properly before it goes on sale in our Etsy shop.
SteadyState will grow beyond divorce and co-parenting over time — running and training, management and work, and the other areas of life that benefit from a calm, organised approach. The name is the idea: steady, sustainable systems that keep working week after week.
A note on the legal content
Everything here about divorce and children law relates to England & Wales (Scotland and Northern Ireland have different systems). It is general information, not legal advice, and it is no substitute for a family solicitor who knows your case.
